Your town needs you and your feedback

Imagine living in a town where everyone is enjoying physical and positive mental health  and where wellbeing is valued and supported at every level and is everyone’s responsibility within our community. This is our aim, can you help us make this happen?

How can you help? We need to gain an understanding  of the existing health  and wellbeing levels of residents within our community. From this valuable research we have the foundation to start making Killaloe Ballina the First Healthy Town in Ireland.

Do you want to be part of it?  here’s how you can help

1.       Questionnaire – Please complete a short online Health & Wellbeing Survey.  All entries will be entered into a draw to win one of two lunch vouchers in Wood Brothers Cafe, Killaloe

2.       Town Hall Meeting – On a community level, we would like to harness the energy, creativity and expertise to help achieve a Healthy Killaloe Ballina. A Town Hall Meeting will be held on Thursday July 2nd to inform community groups, clubs and members of the project and offer a platform for questions, ideas and plans – OPEN TO EVERYONE
Date: Thursday 2nd July
Time: 19:00

Boruman Triathlon

BORUMAN 1000yrs Sprint Triathlon is set right in the heart of the home of the original BORUMAN, The High King of Ireland, Brian Boru. The event takes place in the twin towns Killaloe, Co. Clare and Ballina, Co. Tipperary, one of the most scenic destinations in Ireland on the majestic shores of Lough Derg.

750m canal swim through the town, transitioning into a 23.5km fast sprint cycle and finally a 5km through the twin towns of Killaloe and Ballina with an epic finish taking in the true heritage of the historic home of the last great High King.

A great sprint event for the competitor preparing for Hell of The West (perfect time to test the legs, then taper) and the many other events to follow this summer. It’s also an ideal start for those new to triathlon. Relay places will be available for those who want to try a team approach!

Park Closure to Accommodate Scouting Ireland Camp

Scouting Ireland is Ireland’s largest volunteer youth organisation with approximately 50,000 members in 500 Scout Groups across the island of Ireland – both North and South.
The National Camp which will be hosted in Clarisford Park this July will cater for 450 Scouts from all over Ireland, both boys and girls, aged between 11 and 15 years old. There will also be 50 youth staff and 80 adult members in attendance. The event itself will consist of fun, outdoor, challenging, educational and adventurous activities, both on land and water, which are designed to test an individual’s skills and build teamwork.

Due to the stringent Scouting Ireland rules and policy regarding Child Protection and Welfare, youth members may not come into contact with the greater public on activities at the camp. This means that Scouting Ireland will retain the sole use of Clarisford Park and McHale’s field, which will be closed to the public from Sunday  12th  July at 10.00 through to Sunday the 19th July at 19.00

Park Closed to Public from Sunday  12th  July at 10.00 through to Sunday the 19th July at 19.00
